Artist’s Name: Yuval Lavi
Genre: Soundtrack / World Music
Founded: 2018
Originated From: Jerusalem, Israel
Discography: New World (EP)
How would you describe your music?
I can describe my style as organic and lush. I use classical and folk instruments, along with synth and atmospheric sounds, to create a unique experience for my audience.
What is your musical creative process like?
I usually watch the video the director sends me a few times. I find inspiration in the characters and environment, which leads to me writing a draft that, in my opinion, supports the storyline and overall mood.
After presenting the draft to the director and receiving his feedback, hearing about his vision, or sometimes even getting a few reference tracks, I start working on what will eventually become the final piece.
Who influenced you within the music industry?
I’m Influenced a lot by electronic producers. I was always fascinated by synths and modulations of organic sounds. Also, I always had a passion for contemporary composer’s work. My latest EP is influenced by the musicians like Ludovico Einaudi, Evgeny Grinko and Olafur Arnolds.
What is the best thing about being a musician?
Love what you do and wake up every morning passionate and excited.
What’s the biggest problem you’ve had to overcome so far as a musician?
Finding your own voice and sound is very important to become unique in an over populated industry. You just have to constantly keep working hard and put your music out there and hope it’ll lead to future gigs.
What plans have you got coming up this year?
I’m currently working on several soundtracks for films and collaborations with talented artists and musicians. In addition, I’m planning to release a few more singles by the end of the year, and hopefully, I can start working on a new album very soon!
What is your ultimate dream as a musician?
Keep writing music and love what I do.
