I love music on a variety of different platforms from live music to film soundtracks. Another type of music I enjoy is TV theme tunes. They bring joy, humour and entertainment. Plus they illustrate the genre and stories of the TV shows they are designed for.
Here are my 5 favourite TV theme tunes:
1. “I’ll be there for you” – Friends
Friends is by far my favourite programme in the world and has the best theme tune in the world. The song, sung by The Rembrandts, pretty much sums up the lives of most people (myself included) in their mid 20s – “your jobs a joke, you’re broke, your love life’s D.O.A”.

2. “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” – The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
I’m not a big fan of rap music, but this is an epic rap song performed by one of my favourite actors, Will Smith. It immediately sums up the plot line to his famous 90s sitcom and is a great sing-a-long anthem.

3. “Run” – Gavin & Stacey
This piece of music was created by singer/songwriter, Stephen Fretwell. I never heard of it until it appeared as the theme tune to Gavin & Stacey. It is a beautiful piece with a simple acoustic guitar riff, piano chords and drum beat.
I remember as a teenager, watching re-runs with my best friend, Pluggy, and at the end of every episode, we would sing along in unison; “Tell me tomorrow I’ll wait by the window for you”. I’m buzzing for the reunion episode that is due to be broadcast on Christmas Day!

4. “Two and a Half Men” – Two and a Half Men
Two and a Half Men is another awesome American sitcom with a simple and catchy theme tune. It’s a very memorable song that will easily get stuck in your head.

5. “Not Going Out” – Not Going Out
Not Going Out is a British sitcom, starring and created by comedian Lee Mac. Again, this song is very repetitive and catchy but great fun to sing along to.
