I know February is the shortest month of the year but my goodness that went fast. It’s been very productive and had my first fun night out of 2022.

Rob Brydon live in Portsmouth
At the beginning of February, I went to my first live show of 2022 to see Welsh comedian Rob Brydon at Portsmouth Guildhall.
This was no ordinary stand-up show though. It was a mixture of comedy and live music, in which Rob sings with an 8-piece band. Rob has such an incredible singing voice that I think he would be perfect for West End productions.
He also has great stage presents and interacts brilliantly with the audience, to the point that during the interval, he wrote a song about the people he spoke to in the audience – so creative and talented.
He also told some heart-warming stories and hilarious jokes, which got me in fits of giggles and crying with laughter.
And I can’t not mention the finale when Uncle Bryn from Gavin & Stacey paid a visit in his cowboy outfit. We tried to get the truth about the “fishing trip” but he still didn’t say anything – gutted!
However, we did get to enjoy a sing-a-long of Islands in the Stream, the iconic song Bryn and Nessa sang during Gwen’s surprise birthday barn dance party on the programme.
Overall, it was an amazing show and lifted my spirits after a few months of sad and depressing events. Laughter and music is the best medicine!
Books
As I mentioned last month, I’ve been trying to get through all my unread books stacked up in my Audible library. This month, I read another four books back to back –
- A Tiny Bit Marvellous by Dawn French
- Oh Dear Sylvia by Dawn French
- According To Yes by Dawn French
- Watching Neighbours Twice a Day…How ’90s TV (Almost) Prepared Me for Life by Josh Widdicombe
TV
I’ve spent most of this month binge watching the first three series of Killing Eve ahead of the fourth and final series starting 28th February on BBC One. I hope we get to find out the truth about who “the twelve” are and will Villanelle and Eve live happily ever after?
I’ve also watched a Channel 4 drama called The Accident, which I discovered while researching for an interview with actress Ruth Madeley.
It is a 4-part series based in Wales, which sees several teenagers break into a building site that later explodes and the building collapses, killing all but one of them.
The story then looks at the incident being investigated and the families wanting justice. A sad and horrific story and a dramatic and emotional watch, which draws you in because we all want to know the truth.
I’m also pleased that Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway has returned to our screens, still full of love, laughter and silliness.
Audio Description petition
My campaign for audio description has continued throughout February 2022 and the petition has now gained an outstanding 3458 signatures, which is incredible!
But I’m eager to reach thousands. The more signatures we get, the more likely changes could be made within the TV & films industries. Please, please, PLEASE continue to sign & share my petition!
Guest Bloggers Wanted
I’m still eager to collaborate with even more bloggers in 2022. So, if you’re a lifestyle, disability and/or music blogger, send me your blog stories. Plus let me know if you’d like me to feature on your blog as a guest blogger.
I’m flexible with any type of blog posts; life story, disability awareness, music event, musician promotion – basically anything to do with life, disability or music!
In addition, I have a guest blog series called “RFD Question Time with…” where I interview disabled people and/or bloggers. If you’d like to be interviewed in this series, please also contact me.
