How would you describe your music?

As I’m a singer songwriter, I guess you might class my music as adult contemporary pop. But there’s some jazz and folk influences in there too.

I would hope any new listener would think Christopher Taylor is a songwriter who writes lyrical, catchy tunes with infectious melodies, and come back for more!

What is your musical creative process like?

I write on my own the music and have a mixture of lyricists both self-penned and in collaboration with others.

Who influenced you within the music industry?

As a teenager it was artists like Alice Cooper that had a big impact on me. Throughout my life I’ve been into all sorts of genres, which has had a major impact on my writing.

Have you performed live much and what was your favourite gig to play at?

I play live (or did before the pandemic) regularly. I love all gigs. The buzz I get playing to small intimate crowds or big venues is the same excitement.

What is the best thing about being a musician?

I think it’s sharing my music. I hope my songs really connect with people whatever their situation. I’ve had fan feedback that thanks me for a song, which was just the tonic they needed. I guess I want my music to be accessible to all.

What’s the biggest problem you’ve had to overcome so far as a musician?

The last year has been really challenging. Not being able to play has been very frustrating. I have been able to write and record though, which has helped with the challenge.

What plans have you got coming up this year?

Really looking forward playing again soon and then I’m heading for the studio to record another EP of songs in the summer. I can’t wait.

What is your ultimate dream as a musician?

Having my music played right across the globe is part of a dream fulfilled but I would really like mainstream recognition for my songs with playlists on the major national media stations.

Head to Christopher Taylor’s website where you can get access to his music, gig information and much more.
