I am keen to collaborate with businesses, organisations and individuals with my freelance journalism, sponsored writing or guest blogging services.
I have a creative mind and I am an enthusiastic writer; writing for many print, online & broadcast media, both academically and working as a freelance writer.
I have a second class (upper division) degree in journalism. I have carried out various work experience placements and freelance work:
- I’m the active blogger of Rock For Disability with 1500 followers and over 18,000 blog hits. I’ve published more than 200 blog posts about a variety of topics such as music, entertainment, disability, lifestyle, general news and events.
- I’m a writer for online magazine Disability Horizons where I’ve published over 100 articles including news content, accessibility reviews, sponsored posts and interviews. Also I’ve written product descriptions for the Disability Horizons Shop.
- I work for the disability organisation AccessAble, which provides Detailed Access Guides for 100,000 venues and public places across the UK. I am the AccessAble Champion for Hampshire and my role is to create blog, video and social media content to promote AccessAble’s services.
Throughout my work, I use my initiative to source topics and contacts. I have confidence talking to people plus have a competent telephone manner. I have excellent time management skills and can work to deadline. In addition, I have expertise in Microsoft Office, WordPress, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest), Adobe Creative Suite software (Audition, Photoshop, Premier Pro & In-Design) and iMovie. Furthermore I have exceptional proofreading and editing abilities.
My career goal is to become a full-time freelance journalist. I’m eager to collaborate with businesses, charities, marketing agencies, websites, bloggers, newspapers, magazines and broadcasters to showcase and develop my skills in online and digital media.
